Todd Selby’s website The Selby has captured the homes of hundreds of creative people around the world. His images are unstyled, intimate and capture the sort of interior details that fascinate us all.
In the spring of 2009, the New York based photographer spent a week in Sydney, shooting some of our favourite Australian creative people in their homes, including but not limited to Natalie Wood of label Something Else, designers Jonathan and Annie Zawada, fashion designer .
The shoots were co-curated and produced by Chris Searl in collaboration with Monster Children Magazine and Gallery, with a selection of the works exhibited at Monster Children in June.
Now, The Selby has released Sydney – a 28-page, softcover book available to buy here. The cover features watercolour paintings of everyone that graces the pages – one of the most endearing details of Todd Selby's work are these naïve portraits of his subjects, and the casual, handwritten questionnaires that follow each photo essay.
