In 1974 Werner Herzog made a short film called Die Große Ekstase des Bildschnitzers Steiner — documenting Walter Steiner at a competition in Planica, Yougoslavia. Watching Vancouver's Winter Olypics over the last few weeks has reminded me of scenes from this film.

I received the King Tubby & Clancy Eccles All Stars LP in the mail this week, an album that Osbourne "King Tubby" Ruddock remixed — that being the reason I bought it. UK label Pressure Sounds have re-issued the recordings.
Tomorrow, but in 1989, King Tubby was shot and killed outside his home in Jamaica. In commemoration I'll be listening to nothing but his productions while at work. Pictured above at Waterhouse Studios, Jamaica.
