In 1974 Werner Herzog made a short film called Die Große Ekstase des Bildschnitzers Steiner — documenting Walter Steiner at a competition in Planica, Yougoslavia. Watching Vancouver's Winter Olypics over the last few weeks has reminded me of scenes from this film.

I was very fortunate to attend the Rodarte Quicktake exhibition launch at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum last week. It was so great to see Kate and Laura Mulleavy's incredible pieces up close and to see so many of their collections in the one space.
The beautiful Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum seemed the perfect setting to view the work, and its design bookshop stayed open which was a lovely addition to the party. Influential figures within the fashion and arts industry were in attendance including the likes of Anna Wintour, Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Spike Jonze, Sophia Coppola, Kirsten Dunst and Natalie Portman. Congratulations Rodarte, it's great to see such talent celebrated.
